No matter what happens Democrats will find ways to ensure they surround Biden with the warm fuzzy blankets of love so he doesn’t think he can do any wrong. That also means they are consistently telling the American people how wrong they are for making him feel attacked. Their ability to completely ignore everything going on, and to treat the American people like morons is nothing less than astounding.
When Fox News invited former Senator Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) on to discuss the situation, it seemed like the normal routine. Getting her in the studio and on-air is great for business, and it’s great to see the other side from time to time.
Yet it seems like nobody expected a Senator, much less a former Senator to go to bat for Biden as hard as she did.
Showing the graphics of gas prices and describing polls the show spoke about an interesting 77% support of the ban on Russian oil even if it means higher gas prices. Yet 70% disapproved of how Biden has been handling the gas prices. This odd mixture of results seems to say the people responding want Russia to pay for its actions, but if prices go up this is all on Biden.
This message sent Heitkamp into a tizzy almost instantly.
“You always blame the party in power. And, you know, the administration wasn’t aggressive enough in my opinion in pushing back on the red herrings… Can I just say that is an artificially low price you’re starting from and when you do inflation adjustment, this isn’t the highest price we’ve had in the last 20 years. In fact, George Herbert Walker Bush under the Bush administration we had gas prices, inflation-adjusted over $5… But we’re shocked because we got used to $2 gas, and that’s the problem!”

This classic defensive move is a trademark of the left. Anytime someone points out what their leadership or party is doing wrong, they make a paring move and make it about someone else. What she fails to realize is that with inflation we are heading not only up to but past the Bush-era numbers.
This is getting worse and worse as time goes on, and something needs to be done about it. Yet the Democrats like Heitkamp and others just stick their heads in the sand and find ways to blame others for their problems.
Which is exactly what she did. No attempts to take the blame on their own, she just passed the buck.
“Who drove up inflation? We saw the CBO numbers this week. It was the Trump administration that overspent and drove up inflation so if inflation in prices and housing and in gas is because of deficit spending, that’s Trump’s fault and so the administration has not been nearly aggressive enough to explain what’s actually going on.”
The problem with this argument is that it doesn’t tell the whole story, nor does it even remotely consider the money he was forced to spend due to this pandemic. A situation he handled most graciously, even if the American people turned tail to run to Biden after being overwhelmed by messages from people like Heitkamp.
Biden has been in office for over a year and change now. Nothing he promised the American people has happened. We have higher gas prices, higher taxes. There has been no student loan forgiveness, and cannabis remains federally illegal.
When Trump was in office things he promised happened daily, and the Democrats did everything they could to stonewall his efforts. Now they are doing that to their own President. With the midterms coming up there will be a red splatter of new Republicans coming into the Senate and the House.
Hopefully, they can get things done and keep Biden from making things worse; especially since he won’t do what he says he will.
