Insiders Speculate What Office Ivanka Trump Might Run for in Upcoming Election

With the potential that President Donald Trump could be leaving the White House in a little more than a month, some Washington insiders are wondering if someone else from the famous family might be ready to carry on the political legacy.

Along with their fame and fortune due to Donald Trump’s business dealings, the Trumps made a splash with their surprisingly conservative politics and garnered what can only be characterized as a cult following.

While President Donald Trump’s future seems as yet undecided, it appears that several of his children might have their sights on some pretty high profile positions.

While most work their way up the ranks in political offices, like her father, Ivanka Trump Kushner might have set her sights on the particularly coveted office of Senator.

Since Ivanka has traveled all over Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Argentina, Colombia, Paraguay in 2019 alone under the banner of her “Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative,” she has already wracked up substantial credibility working in political office.

Additionally, her father, Donald Trump claims that “She has now created 14 million jobs …  And they are being trained by these great companies, the greatest companies in the world because the government cannot train them.”

According to her page on the White House website says that “In her role, she focuses on the education and economic empowerment of women and their families as well as job creation and economic growth through workforce development, skills training, and entrepreneurship.”

According to a report in The Daily Wire, Ivanka has “gotten a taste for politics” since becoming one of the top aides in the White House. Speculation is that she might run against Florida incumbent Republican Sen. Marco Rubio.

“Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner — who also backed into a top White House post — recently shelled out $30 million for a nearly two-acre lot on the exclusive Indian Creek Island — dubbed ‘Billionaire’s Bunker’ — north of Miami,” the Daily Wire reported.

According to CNN, Florida would be a great place for Ivanka to launch herself into politics. Rubio’s seat will be up for grabs in 2022 and the Florida Senator has been a harsh critic of  President Donald Trump, though he did put his political weight behind the president once he won the election.

“Trump has not ruled out a near-future run for office, nor has she publicly denied she has political ambitions of her own. Florida, which President Donald Trump won in 2016 and 2020, provides a potential opportunity for Ivanka Trump, should she choose to enter politics,” CNN reported.

“Ivanka definitely has political ambitions, no question about it,” the source told CNN. “She wants to run for something, but that still needs to be figured out.”

Adam C. Smith, former Tampa Bay Times political editor and now a consultant with Mercury Public Affairs told CNN “I think she’d be the immediate frontrunner if she ran for U.S. Senate against Rubio, given her father’s popularity in the Sunshine State.

“Marco Rubio is up for reelection in 2022 and is expected to run again. But I wouldn’t think Rubio would deter her if she wanted to run. The last time Marco Rubio ran against a Trump in Florida, in the 2016 presidential primary, Rubio was crushed by 19 percentage points.”

One key element that Ivanka has that almost no other candidate could rival would be her name recognition. “Normally, you’d expect a credible candidate for US Senate to spend years building a political and financial network, but those normal rules would not apply to Ivanka,” Smith said.

“I think she’d be the immediate frontrunner if she ran for US Senate against Rubio, given her father’s popularity in the Sunshine State.”
