It’s official: More than 200 Republican women ran for Congress in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2020, which beats a record of 135 GOP women who ran for U.S. House a decade ago!
CNN’s fake polls might say Trump is polling poorly with women, but here is indisputable proof that women see the Trump era as an opportunity to claim their role in leadership.
The Trump Administration is leading the global coalition to advance the role women play in peace and security globally.
On June 11, 2020, President Trump said in an official White House statement that “Nations that empower women are much wealthier, safer, and much more politically stable.”
2018 brought a record number of women to Congress, but only 13 in the U.S. House were Republican. Apparently, women, too, are fed up with the Radical Left Democrat’s extreme socialist policies and are running to fight for America.
The Republican National Committee (RNC) has also stepped up efforts to actively recruit more women to run for office.
“We need to do better at making sure that we’re helping and supporting Republican women as candidates,” House Republican Conference Chair Rep. Liz Cheney stated in a CBS News interview after Republicans lost the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018.
“My grandmother was the first woman ever elected to the Dallas City Council and that was in 1957, so I have been around trailblazing women and I think it’s disappointing to not see that reflected in the U.S. House of Representatives from a Republican woman’s perspective,” said Genevieve Collins, who is trying to unseat Texas freshman Democratic Rep. Collin Allred.
“The fact that there’s only 13 Republican women means that our voices, our perspectives, and our experiences are not able to shape policy, and also really help move the needle down the line to really make an impact,” Collins added.
Iowa state Rep. Ashley Hinson, a former TV news anchor, is also in the mix and running against freshman Democratic Rep. Abby Finkenauer in Iowa’s 1st Congressional District, which Trump won by several points in 2016.
“If you look at the number of Republican women who have stepped up to run this year, that tells the other side of the story – that is Republican women are ready to engage,” said Hinson.
With female Republican nominees in safe seats in Michigan, Colorado, and other states it all but guarantees that more than 13 GOP women will serve in the U.S. House of Representatives during the next Congress. But, but, but – fake news says – the GOP is unlikely to regain a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Which is all the more reason to get out there and support, donate, and volunteer for women candidates.
Some Republican officials fear that failing to elect more women will hurt the party with female voters increasingly flocking to the Democrats because of Democrat propaganda about late-term abortion and Planned Parenthood. This shift in women voters to the Democrats, particularly in suburban areas, has hurt the GOP’s totals and drove the Democrats’ recapture of the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018.
Until recently, Democratic women have had a leg up on their Republican counterparts due to progressive fundraising arms such as abortion champion Emily’s List which funds Democrat candidates. Republican women, up until now, have been vastly out-raised by pro-abortion groups backing Democrat women.
The Republican Party is the party for family values. It’s time for men to get out and support the better halves! This movement is critical to Republicans recapturing the U.S. House of Representatives in 2020.
