The latest sad story involving the mask Gestapo took place at a Bank of America in Texas. As most readers know, this is a state that has recently decided to lift its mask mandates. So why are the mask police still roaming the streets looking for people to harass? It’s a very good question that needs to be answered as soon as possible.
Galveston police have since released the bodycam footage and it is a tough watch. No one wants to watch an old woman be assaulted but this is the reality that we are all living with. 65-year-old Terry White decided to head to the bank without her mask on the day after the mandate was lifted. This should not have been some sort of huge issue, right?
A bank manager is seen in the video speaking with White. Within a few moments, an officer is summoned. The woman does her best to explain the situation to them. The mask mandate has been lifted, so this simple bank trip should not be an issue. The officer lets the woman know that while the mandate has been lifted, individual businesses still have the right to enforce their own mask policies.
White lets the officer know that she would simply like to take out some money. The officer is having none of it. “Ma’am, listen, we can do this the easy way or the hard way,” she is told. A lot of people would have probably turned tail and hightailed it out of there. She was not afraid of this officer in the least bit.
“What are you going to do? Arrest me?” White asks. “That’s hilarious.” Soon after she made that statement (and did a little arguing with other customers), she was given her answer. The officer took her to the ground without so much as a second thought. It’s almost like this officer was raring for the confrontation. Who gets their rocks off on taking down an old woman who was just trying to use the bank?
White is now facing charges for criminal trespassing and resisting arrest. Bank of America has yet to comment on this specific arrest but they are offering a more generalized statement to local news outlets. ABC 13 has more: “We remain focused on supporting the health and safety needs of our associates, clients and communities. This includes ensuring our practices and policies are aligned with the most up-to-date guidance from medical professionals and public health experts. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other medical experts continue to reinforce the importance of using face coverings and practicing physical distancing in all public spaces.
In accordance with that ongoing guidance, we continue to require everyone who enters our financial centers to wear a face covering. If clients inform us that they are uncomfortable wearing a face covering or unable to do so, we recommend they use our ATMs or drive-through window. Clients also can utilize mobile and online banking for the majority of their day-to-day banking needs.”
Bank of America is an ironic name for a location that is not looking to cater to the patriots of this great country. We would not be surprised if people started shuttering their accounts entirely. The big banks think that they can boss everyone around, without facing any sort of repercussions. This woman simply wanted to handle her banking needs in a timely manner. She is now facing criminal charges. How did we go so wrong as a country?
It’s a rhetorical question at the moment but it needs to be answered. White deserves better than how she was treated and anyone can agree on that. The officer who took her down needs to be taken down a few pegs, too, if you ask us. These people are not the least bit interested in upholding the law. They are merely looking to go on their own little power trip.
