Yeonmi Park is a young woman who resides in America and she was able to escape from North Korea with her mother when she was a teenager. Her recent appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast has inspired a lot of attention, rightfully so. She described her escape from communism in full detail. She also described what life was like for her in North Korea.
Death, starvation and a lack of electricity are the main elements of this sad story. Mind you, there are plenty of Americans who are looking to become a communist nation and they have no idea what they are even talking about. They don’t engage with any sort of real facts. The North Korean defector sat down with the podcaster to talk about the harrowing life she led in the Hermit Kingdom, the things she endured, the horrors she witnessed and the daring escape that she made.
The more than three-hour interview is certainly not for the faint-hearted and she goes into detail what the conditions are like inside the most secretive country in the world.
In one section Yeonmi spoke about the vast amounts of starvation that occurs in parts of North Korean.
“The hardest thing as a child for me was when my mum goes away to find food. We don’t have phones, we don’t have letters. If I say goodbye to her, I don’t know when I’m going to see her again or if I’m ever going to see her again,” she said.
“Because she could have [been] killed, and raped and starved.”
She said she was never taught to feel bad for all the dead bodies she would see every day scattered around the place.”
This is a video that a lot of Americans need to see but that does not mean that it is for the faint of heart. You’ll want to make sure that you are not faint of heart. Rogan’s podcast is full of these types of perspectives and that’s why the progressives don’t want much to do with it.
She describes her escape in full detail as well, so that you can learn more about the true horrors of communism. American leftists are spoiled and they believe that communism is some sort of awesome utopia. That’s what happens when you speak out about things that you know nothing of.
Let’s face it, Americans only defend communist countries because they want communism themselves. Their motivations could not be any more selfish. They do not care about the endless nightmares that these people experience. They view communism as some sort of free ride and they want to get on it as soon as possible.
This young woman is shattering all of those notions and that’s why they are not going to share this as readily. You can compare and contrast their reactions to stories like these with their reactions to what takes place in Cuba. When they can wade into the conversation, act like they know what they are talking about and defend communism? Their mouths never shut.
When they are forced to reckon with the fact that they do not know everything, you can watch how fast their opinions start to change. All of a sudden, it is the media’s fault and they do not understand communism like they do! You see, they have all read a book and that gives them all of the knowledge that they are ever going to need about cultural issues that are far more complicated than they could ever understand.
Fortunately, people like Joe Rogan are still here to set them straight. They do not want to know but the information is out there, whether they realize it or not. Lots of sane people actually want to know the facts about these things and Rogan provides them. We just hope this woman’s message finds its way to the right people.
